The Rocket City Math League is a year-long, mail-in contest consisting of four tests.
The first test – the inter-school test – is a 15-question, 30-minute test in which
all members of the school's math team work together to complete the test. Awards
for this test are separate from awards for other tests.
Rounds 1, 2, and 3 (tests 2, 3, and 4) are 45-minute, 12-question tests, with questions
varying in value between 1 and 4 points for a maximum of 25 possible points. Each
student takes either a Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, or Discovery Test, depending on
the math course the student is currently enrolled in.
The top twenty individuals in each of the five math levels, as determined by the
cumulative scores from the three rounds, will receive individual awards. The top
ten teams in each of the math levels, based on the sum of the top five individual
scores from the school in each division, will also receive team awards.
