By using our site, you consent to our privacy policy.
What information do we collect?
We take the privacy of our participants very seriously; therefore, we only collect
the information necessary to provide our educational services effectively. We collect
information from you when you register on our site, subscribe to our email newsletters,
respond to a survey, fill out a registration form, or provide personal information
at a WSMA-sponsored event. To post information in our online communities and to access
certain resources, you must create an account with the Washington Student Math Association.
To register an account, the only personal information we require is your full name and
email address, as well as your school, grade level and general role, if applicable.
During the registration process you may select your own user name and password,
which are both needed to log on. (The user name which you select is used as an onscreen
name to identify you; it should not be your real name, but a pseudonym.) Your user
name will be used to identify you on the forum. However, you may choose to visit
our site anonymously, although you may not be able to use all the features.
How do we use your information?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
• To personalize your experience (your information helps us to better respond
to your individual needs)
• To improve our website (we continually strive to improve our website offerings
based on the information and feedback we receive from you)
• To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature
• To send periodic emails
Your email address is used for WSMA to send messages to you. We do so to confirm
your user name and password should you forget them and also to send infrequent account
updates. We may also use your email address to assist in administering our web site
and to help enforce our conduct rules (for example, people who post offensive messages
in the forum can be banned). We will not send solicitation emails unless the user
elects to join our mailing lists. Users can customize their email subscriptions
to receive email notifications in certain categories. If at any time you would like
to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions
at the bottom of each email, or you can unsubscribe via your profile on the website.
Your email will not be shared with or sold to any third party without your explicit
consent. We have taken reasonable steps to protect your email address, user name,
password, and other information from anyone who is not authorized to have such information.
We cannot be held responsible for an unauthorized person illegally obtaining that
information. We will continue to take steps to protect personal data to the extent
which we are able.

future visits, keep track of advertisements and compile aggregate data about site
traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools
in the future. We may contract with third-party service providers to assist us in
better understanding our site visitors. These service providers are not permitted
to use the information collected on our behalf except to help us conduct and improve
our business. Third parties do not have access to any sensitive data, such as your
